Support the Equal Rights Amendment for Equal Justice For Women Under Law by Signing This Petition for the Georgia State House Of Representatives.
I am on the frontline in the community fighting on behalf of those who have been considered the most challenged, and as a result are disenfranchised and have often been left behind.
I fought for women and children as the Founder of the National Taskforce Against Domestic Violence. I work with law enforcement to help protect families, provide a safe haven, and assist them with resources. My passion is helping victims to understand their “rights,” and provide clothing and job readiness for families in transition.
I fought for the Equal Rights Amendment to ensure that Women receive Equal Pay for Equal Work. This legislation died in the Senate in 1982 and I reintroduced it to the House of Representatives in 2018.
I fought for Marsy’s Law to make sure that rapists and abusers do not have more rights than victims.
I fought for the Voting Rights Act, making the case that Georgia Republicans reshaped two state legislative districts to minimize the electoral influence of African-Americans.
I fought to create the first partnership in Dekalb County between the District Attorney’s office, law enforcement, business owners, and the faith and other community leaders in Dekalb County to combat the escalating murder rate.
I fought for the Affordable Care Act to ensure that all of Georgia’s citizens can afford healthcare which is their basic human right.
I know what it takes; new bold leadership that is not tied to the past. I am willing to take on the special interests and call out the insider deals.
We can do better, and I intend to lead the 41st district in a new direction that does less for the wealthy and well connected and more for those struggling to make it.
As I continue fighting for Women’s Rights I introduced the Equal Rights Amendment Legislation in 2018 Georgia General Assembly through Representative Billy Mitchell.
Join me in championing equal rights for women.
Since 1923 women have been fighting for full inclusion in the constitution of the United States of America. In 2018 let’s make good on that promise. Women deserve equal pay for equal work, protection for healthcare, and equity when it comes to due process of the law.
The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) would amend the Constitution to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex. It would give women the same protections afforded men, and allow women to use the courts to advocate for full equality.
Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.
Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.
“The time has come to make history by ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). There are 14 unratified states and ratification by two more states, will put the ERA into the Constitution.”
“Calling all advocates and activists across the Nation. Join our efforts in making Constitutional Equality for all Women.”
